Shawn Morgan is a highly accomplished legal professional serving as the Office Managing Member of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC’s Bridgeport, WV office. With a wealth of experience and expertise, Shawn specializes in resolving complex crises for clients across various domains, including internal investigations, cybersecurity, civil litigation, white-collar defense, and government compliance.

Additionally, she brings her extensive knowledge to bear in handling government and regulatory investigations as a valuable member of the firm’s Emergency Response Team.
As a trusted leader of the firm’s White Collar Defense Team, Shawn provides invaluable counsel to clients regarding responses to Grand Jury and administrative subpoenas. Her adeptness in this area has earned her recognition, with Chambers USA recently recognizing her as one of Steptoe & Johnson’s 28 lawyers leading the field of business law.
Before joining Steptoe & Johnson PLLC in 2015, Shawn amassed 13 years of experience as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of West Virginia. Her legal career began with four years as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Irene M. Keeley, further enhancing her understanding of the judicial process.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Shawn is an active volunteer, serving on the Boards of the Hotsinpiller Foundation and Harrison County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Additionally, she contributes to the Visiting Committee for the West Virginia University Extension Service, further demonstrating her commitment to community involvement and advocacy.
