At our 5k event, a key highlight is a collection of unique challenges designed specifically for the law enforcement community. These challenges, such as Top Cop, Two Man Team, and Plate Carrier, bring a unique and special element to our event while honoring the dedication and strength of law enforcement officers.
The Two Man Team challenge, introduced at the event’s launch in 2011, emphasizes teamwork as pairs of officers aim for the fastest combined time among all law enforcement teams. The top three teams are all awarded prizes. However, the most prestigious achievement goes to the winning team; the annual traveling trophy. Each year the names of the winning team are engraved on the trophy, serving as a tribute to their hard work. This trophy is proudly displayed at the team’s agency until the next year’s race.
In the Top Cop challenge, officers compete head-to-head to complete the race the fastest, demonstrating their speed and endurance. As the number of participants grows yearly, this competition showcases the winner’s unwavering determination to lead the pack.
The Plate Carrier challenge raises the bar by requiring participants to wear their department-issued vest during the race, testing their physical strength and resilience. With the standard plate carrier weighing over 20 lbs, each participant symbolizes their commitment to excel in a demanding course. This challenge truly embodies the daily challenges faced by law enforcement professionals.
