My name is Ashley Cilento. I joined the race committee in 2017. This is my seventh year on the committee. I assist in delivering sponsorship packets, race day set up and take down, as well as awards for race day Law Enforcement Officers and race participants.
I grew up here in Bridgeport, WV. I graduated from Bridgeport High School in 2003 and West Virginia School of Nursing in 2007. I have since worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at WVU Medicine Childrens Hospital (16.5 years) as a Registered Nurse, and also started working in the Critical Care Unit at United Hospital Center during the pandemic. My husband, Sam and I have two amazing kids, Gianna (12) and Anthony (10). I have been involved in coaching their youth sports teams over the years and served on several boards for youth sports such as Bridgeport Youth Football, Bridgeport Girls Softball Association, and North Central West Virginia Summer Swim. I am also the current treasurer for Johnson Elementary School PTA and the treasurer of the West Virginia University Alumni Cheerleading Association. We are members at All Saints Catholic Church where Sam and I have assisted in catechism classes over the years. I love the West Virginia University Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Pittsburgh Pirates and we go to as many games as we can.
I have always held a special place in my heart for our law enforcement community. They risk their lives daily and what better way to give back than be a part of something so incredible. As the Hotsinpiller Foundation has continued to grow and expand, I love being able to give back to those that protect us daily. I want my kids to understand the importance of supporting our LEO’s and also giving back to the community. They have participated in the race for many years and love it! This is truly an event for the entire family to honor and celebrate the lives lost in the line of duty. Having the ability to honor and remember the fallen Officers, such as Derek, is a true honor.
