Hannah Francis

I joined the DHFS5K Race Committee for the 2020 race season. This will be my 4th year!

I am the Sponsorship Coordinator. My main role is to support the Foundation through Events and Sponsorships by coordinating all event details and sponsorships and organizing and assigning all current and potential sponsors. I also assess the Foundation’s need for grant or sponsorship funds and develop proposals and write grants in order to fulfill the mission of our Foundation. I also organize and build all of our race day raffle baskets.

I grew up in Clarksburg and went to school with Ashley Hotsinpiller. I graduated from WVU School of Nursing in 2007. I am a Pediatric ICU RN but I am currently not working so I can be at home with my three daughters: Annabel, Audrey, and Alexandra. My husband (David) and I live in Bridgeport and are active members of Simpson Creek Baptist Church. We spend our free time (if we have any!) at Deep Creek Lake on our boat in the summers and skiing in the winters.

Because Law Enforcement was NOT my calling, it is important to me to give back to those who have been called to Law Enforcement. The best way that I can honor Derek’s ultimate sacrifice and the daily sacrifices our LEOs and their families make is by supporting the James and Derek Hotsinpiller Memorial Foundation. With the DHFS5K being The Foundation’s largest fundraising event, it is imperative that my family and I participate in this annual event. Between my husband and I, we have run and/or walked 11 out of the last 12 events. My kids love this event as much as I do and we look forward to this race every single year. I love how our community pulls together annually to honor and remember Derek, as well as showing our support to our faithful Law Enforcement Officers. The race committee has done such a tremendous job to make this such a family-friendly event.
