Hey, I’m Matrasa Walker! I live in Bridgeport with my husband, Derek, and our 3 boys, Landen, Hayden, and Camden. My role on the Committee is helping with Sponsorship Packets, Donations, and anything else that is needed. I joined in 2023. This is my 2nd year being on the Committee.
I work at The Bridge Sports Complex as a Front Desk Supervisor and Certified Group Fitness Instructor. I also own a smalI business with my husband called Integrity Vending. I currently serve as a volunteer PTA member at my children’s school. I have been a member of Horizons Church for 15 + years and currently serve as a volunteer in the children’s nursery. Myrtle Beach is my “happy place” and I always look forward to going there with my family every year. In my spare time, I love to workout at Main Street Fitness, read a good romance novel, enjoy the outdoors, and spend quality time with my kids 🙂
The DHFS5K event is such a fun and exciting way to bring the community and surrounding areas together. This race honors Derek, his legacy, and the sacrifice he made for the USMS. It brings awareness all over the world of all the fallen heroes that have died in the line of duty. It proves to so many individuals each year that this is more than just a 5K race. It’s about supporting law enforcement. That is why this race is important to me. My family and I always look forward to this race every year!
